OPTIFAST® Case Series: Brenda M
Coach Lisa blogs about her experience with Brenda
Brenda M. recently joined the OPTIFAST® CORE program at the Peel Weight Loss Clinic Clinic. She started off well, then a life event derailed her progress. At PWL we understand that there are many life pressures that can consume your commitment. However, with our support we can keep you on track: With Brenda’s consent we profile her initial experience. Read Brenda’s story.
Brenda M.
Brenda M is 24 years old and has been a truck driver for over 3 years. She has been a bigger girl since the 4th grade and years of bullying got her down about herself, thinking she was never strong enough to lose the weight. Finally she was fed up. Fed up with ill-fitting clothing, lack of confidence, and lack of energy. That is when she called Peel Weight Loss Clinic. Here is what she said.
“I can picture where my life is going and where I want to be. Being heavy is not what I want for my future. I’ve changed a lot over the years and this is the last hurdle I have to jump to be the person I truly am and not hide away because of my size.” On January 5 Brenda started the OPTIFAST® CORE Program Brenda. She weighed in at 270.3 pounds. She took her OPTIFAST® Shakes and started her usual long haul drive.
Brenda was on track and after 2 weeks she had lost 10 pounds. Then she had a break up. Then she hit a dear on the road and wrecked her truck. She was so stressed that she drove to MacDonald’s and had a Big Mac®. She did a few days of cheating, but then came into the clinic on Jan 22 and had still maintained her 10 pound loss at 260 pounds!
Weight Loss is not easy, there are ups and downs. But when Brenda left the clinic we armed her with some better tools of coping with stress, and we are checking in on her more frequently. She is back on track. Her next weigh in is Feb 29. Stay tuned as she wants you to join her in this exciting journey!
Note: At PWL we set realistic goals for all our patients. All patients will have some struggles, however with our support you can overcome them.
