Try Shirley’s OPTIFAST® Recipes to add some pizzazz to your OPTIFAST® shakes.
OPTIFAST ® 900 is a nutritionally complete meal replacement used in the medically supported OPTIFAST® weight management program.
It is also used for patients undergoing certain surgeries to help them achieve a safe preoperative weight.
The OPTIFAST ® 900 powder comes in vanilla and chocolate flavours. Use the tips below to add variety and delicious flavours to your meals!
Recipe #1: Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake
a. 1 product packet, chocolate flavor
b. 2 tbsp. powdered peanut butter
c. 6-10oz cold water
Instructions: Shake or blend at low-speed until dissolved
Recipe #2: Mint Chocolate Ice
a. 1 product packet, chocolate flavor
b. 1 drop mint flavouring extract
c. 6-10 oz cold water
Instructions: Freeze 1.5-2 hours until semi-solid & blend until slush consistency
Recipe # 3: Maple-Walnut Ice-cream Shake
a. 1 product packet, vanilla flavor
b. 1 tbsp sugar-free maple syrup*
c. 2 drops walnut extract
d. 6-10 oz cold water
Instructions: Shake or blend on low-speed until dissolved
Recipe #4: Sparking Vanilla Root Beer
a. 1 product packet, vanilla flavor
b. 12oz Diet Root Beer
c. 1/8 tsp root beer extract
Instructions: Blend on low-speed until dissolved
Recipe #5: Caramel Rum Shake
a. 1 product packet, vanilla flavor
b. 1 tbsp sugar-free caramel syrup*
c. 1/8 tsp rum extract
d. 6-10 oz cold water
Instructions: Shake or blend on low-speed until dissolved
* Try sugar-free syrups from Torani – popular flavours include Irish cream, hazelnut, raspberry, caramel, almond and orange
Enjoy a creamier texture by mixing product with 4oz cold water (instead of 6-10oz water) and refrigerate 2-3 hours. Some patients find that a pudding consistency is more satisfying.
